What we make
Both apps are designed to do one thing well, both are private by default, and both are still in active development.
Astraea
A cycle record built for PMOS, the condition long called PCOS. Version 3.0 is a ground-up rebuild for cycles that vary: honest windows from your own history, a symptom log made for the condition, a meal scanner that reads glycemic load, sourced readings with their evidence levels, and a doctor visit file that stays free.

How we work
We choose a small number of problems we genuinely care about and stay with them. That means we say no to a lot of feature requests, ship slower than a venture-backed competitor, and spend more time than is strictly rational on the small stuff: the cadence of an animation, the weight of a tap, the wording of an empty state.
We also believe an app's privacy posture is part of its design, not a settings screen. Our defaults assume you don't want to be tracked, identified, or sold to. Everything else follows from that.
What's next
Right now our attention is on Astraea 3.0: a ground-up rebuild for cycles that vary, and for PMOS, the condition long called PCOS. After it ships, the work is listening to the people who use it. Smart Scan X gets quieter, focused updates. We're not in a hurry to launch a third app; we'd rather make these two excellent first.
If you're building something interesting and want to talk, about a partnership, a press piece, or just to compare notes on running a small studio, we'd love to hear from you.
